Track your Convene history, monitor pity, and plan your pulls.
Note: Hard pity = 80. Soft pity activates at 65 pulls, increasing 5★ rate by 7% per pull. Calculations assume Character Event banner rules.
The Wuthering Waves pity system determines how and when you receive 5-star and 4-star Resonators and weapons from Convene banners. Understanding this system is essential for effective pull planning and Astrite management. This guide explains hard pity, soft pity, guarantee mechanics, and how probability scales across different banner types.
Every banner in Wuthering Waves has a hard pity of 80 pulls for a 5-star drop. This means if you have not received a 5-star within 79 pulls, the 80th pull is guaranteed to give you one. Soft pity activates at 65 pulls. From pull 1 through 64, the base 5-star rate is 0.8%. Starting at pull 65, the probability increases by approximately 7% per pull. By pull 70, your effective 5-star rate is around 43%, and by pull 75 it exceeds 80%. The soft pity system ensures that most players receive their 5-star between pulls 70 and 78, making the full 80-pull hard pity relatively rare. For 4-star drops, the hard pity is 10 pulls, with a guaranteed 4-star or higher appearing every 10-pull multi.
The Character Event banner features a limited 5-star Resonator with boosted drop rates. When you pull a 5-star on this banner, there is a 50% chance it is the featured character. If the 5-star you receive is not the featured character (you "lose the 50/50"), the next 5-star you pull on any Character Event banner is guaranteed to be the featured character. This is called the "guarantee" or "pity guarantee." After you use the guarantee, the counter resets and you return to the standard 50/50 system. Most players budget up to 160 pulls (two hard pities) to guarantee a specific featured character. The weapon banner uses a similar but distinct system with a 75/25 split and a lower hard pity of 70 pulls.
One of the most important features of the Wuthering Waves pity system is that your pity counter carries over between banners of the same type. If you did 40 pulls on the current Character Event banner and it ends, your pity counter remains at 40 on the next Character Event banner. This also applies to the guarantee status — if you lost the 50/50 on a previous banner, the guarantee carries forward to the next Character Event banner. Weapon banner pity also carries over between weapon banners. Standard banner pity is separate and only carries over within the standard banner pool. This carry-over system means you can safely save pulls across multiple banners without losing progress.
Enter your current pull count for the active banner in the "Total Pulls This Banner" field. Input how many pulls you have done since your last 5-star in "Pity Since Last 5★". Indicate whether your most recent 5-star was the featured character — this determines whether you are on guarantee. Enter your current Astrite balance to see how many additional pulls you can afford. The tracker calculates your remaining pulls to hard pity and guarantee, estimates the number of days needed based on daily quest income (approximately 60 Astrite per day), and displays your current pull probability considering soft pity scaling. Use this information to decide whether to pull now or save for an upcoming banner.
The most common mistake players make is pulling on a banner without checking their pity count. Always verify your pity before pulling, especially if you are close to soft pity. Another frequent error is spending Astrite on the standard banner with the expectation of earning limited characters. Standard banner pulls use different currency and do not contribute to Event banner pity. Finally, do not assume you will win the 50/50 — budget for up to 160 pulls if you need to guarantee a specific character. The Soft Pity system makes going to 80 pulls unlikely, but it is always better to overprepare than to fall short by a few pulls on the last day of a banner.
